“A leaf is the only thing in our known world that can manufacture sugar out of materials, light and air, that have never been alive. All the rest of us are secondary users, recycling the stuff the plant has made.”
Light is energy. Plants need the energy of light to grow strong, healthy roots and vibrant, lush leaves while people need energy to grow deep rooted connection, purpose, and play
Improper light is an often overlooked cause of health issues when it comes to plants.
When it comes to people, we often underestimate the role energy, specifically the lack of it, plays in our lives.
We often confuse lack of energy for lack of time. The quality and quantity of our energy directly influences the quality and quantity of our time.
low light low energy
When we don’t have the energy we need to meet the day, it impacts every aspect of our experience. Mix in some hunger or a headache or both and your day is headed straight for the dumpster.
Like plants, when we’re lacking energy, we seem wilted, dull, certainly not standing tall reaching towards the light.
light prescription
Fortunately for us all, the prescription is in the problem. Low energy? Seek Light.
Light bathes us in the warm glow of life. Seek what lights you up, even if you don’t feel like it, and eventually the light will break through and begin to course through you, lifting your energy and enabling you to reach higher for the light.
Let Light Lead
Even in the dark we have access to our light. It might be a dim glow, but it’s there. Lightness can feel like the release of a long-held breath or the expansiveness of a sudden joyful inhale. It can feel like you’re so full of light you might launch into the sky like a rocket. Or maybe it can feel like being bathed in the soft, warm, buttery goodness of the hot sun on an early spring day.
When we let light lead, when we surrender to what lights us up, we cultivate our capacity to reach the sun.
